Born in 1997 in Ankara, after his exceptional ability in music had been recognized at the age of 2, Elvin Hoxha started his musical education at the age of 6 in the violin department of Bilkent University Music Preparatory School.

When he was 7 years old, he attracted the attention of the famous Russian violinist Viktor Pikayzen when he attended his master class and they performed “Vivaldi’s Concerto for 2 Violins” together. Elvin Hoxha won the first prize in the International Classical Cultural Heritage Competition in Moscow in March 2006. He has performed in many well-known international festivals and concert series and was awarded with the second prize at the 11th International Lipinski-Wieniawski Young Violinist Competition.

He pursues his studies at Bilkent University Music Preparatory School with Elena Postnova, and with the famous pedagogue Prof. Zakhar Bron at the Hochschule für Musik in Zurich.

He also performed successfully as soloist with the Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra at the opening concert of the 2010 IKSV Istanbul Music Festival and won the “La Noche en Madrid – Segundo Festival y Concurso Internacional 2012 competition” in Spain. Also in 2012, apart from his concert within the YMWS project with Borusan Symphony Orchestra he also gave concerts in Moscow, Odessa, Havana, Bursa, Interlaken and the Baku Rostopovich Festival. In September 2013, Hoxha was awarded the third prize at the prestigious “Moscow International David Oistrakh Competition”.

Hoxha continues his studies with Prof. Zakhar Bron, attending his master classes in several different countries. In 2014, as well as concerts with YMWS in Turkey, he has performed in Cannes, Interlaken, Vienna and Moscow,and was a performer on the DVD recording made at Zürich Tonhalle. In June he gave a recital in Munich, Germany and played in the closing concert of the Floréal Musical d’Epinal festival.

Elvin Hoxa was a scholar of the “Young Musicians on World Stages” project initiated and mentored by Güher and Süher Pekinel and sponsored by Tüpraş from 2010 to 2015.
