Can Çakmur Wins Scottish International Piano Competition 2017

We are very proud to announce that Can Çakmur has won the Scottish International Piano Competition 2017 in Glasgow.

The contest’s clear and deserving winner, was Ankara-born YMWS-Scholar Can Çakmur, who performed Beethoven’s lyrical Fourth Piano Concerto at the finals and let the music speak for itself, in a wonderfully luminous, graceful performance that felt entirely sincere. The 20-year-old received £10,000, the Sir Alexander Stone Memorial Trophy and the Frederic Lamond Gold Medal, and will perform with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in their 2018/19 season. More…

After winning the First Prize last year Doğa Altınok performed the “Saint Saens Violin Concerto No:3” on 29th of April 2016 with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra at the Odessa Philharmonic Hall under Maestro Ertuğ Korkmaz.
