The aim of the project “Young Musicians on World Stages” (YMWS) created and mentored by Güher & Süher Pekinel with the financial support of Tüpraş is to select young outstanding talents and provide them the opportunity to develop and deepen their unique artistic identities as musicians to compete at world standards.
The goal is, besides their training as soloists, to make it possible to work at the best educational institutions with the best musicians in Europe, as well as providing them highest quality instruments and helping to build international careers.
The project’s main focus is Chamber Music, besides its contribution to musicians to become a conscious and knowledgeable soloist, it also opens the door to a deep intellectual and analytical platform, where instantly different musical interpretations and approaches are shared, allowing them to reach the highest level of music making.
Due to their high performances and interpretations at prestigious platforms “Trio Arte”, which consists of the three very talented YMWS Scholars Violinist Veriko Tchumburidze, Cellist Dorukhan Doruk and Pianist Yunus Tuncalı was formed.
Their concert 2014 at the Zurich Tonhalle Chamber Series was live recorded and published by Lila Plak as a DVD with interviews of DRS Radio. “Trio Arte” performed 2015 /16 concerts at the Boğaziçi Albert Long Hall, Notre Dame de Sion Concert Hall and the “D-Marin Classical Music” Festival. Furthermore “Trio Arte” performed with Güher and Süher Pekinel in 2016 Beethoven’s ‘’Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano op.56‘’ with the main orchestras such as Izmir and Istanbul State Symphony and the Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra. At the same year “Trio Arte” played chamber music concerts at the Süreyya Opera and Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall as well as at the Boğaziçi University Albert Long Hall.
2016 “Trio Arte” received the First Prize for chamber music at the “Pietro Argento International Music Competition, 1-5 June” at Gioia del Colle in Italy. A live filmed recital program was played right after the competition at the 44. IKSV International Istanbul Music Festival with world famous violist Gérard Caussé. “Trio Arte” performed the world premiere of renowned composer Özkan Manav’s work “Ludus Modalis” specially written for this event.
Veriko Tchumburidze – Violin
Veriko Tchumburidze born in 1996, began her studies at Mersin University State Conservatory at the age of four as a student of Selahattin Yunkuş. She studied at Mersin University State Conservatory as a student of Lili Tchumburidze and continued her studies in 2010 with Prof. Dora Schwarzberg as a scholar of the “Young Musicians on World Stages” (YMWS) project created by Güher & Süher Pekinel with financial support of Tüpraş, at the “Hochschule für Musik” in Vienna. … More
Dorukhan Doruk – Cello
Cellist Dorukhan Doruk who was awarded at international competitions like the “X. Witold Lutoslawski International Cello Competition” in Poland, gave concerts at the most important concert houses in Europe like the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Züricher Tonhalle and the Genève Victoria Hall. …More
Yunus Tuncalı – Piano
Born in 1992, Yunus Tuncalı was introduced to music at a very early age, starting his musical education at “Bilkent University School of Music and Performing Arts” with Sevinç Keser, Emre Şen and Stiliana Stavreva at the piano.
