Passion for music does not lie in your age but in your heart…

Nine unusually talented young musicians aged 14 to 23 recorded their first concert together on this CD/DVD set, which is a document of the superb level of musical performance that these young artists have achieved.

The ’’Young Musicians on the World Stages’’ project was started by Güher and Süher Pekinel in 2010 in order to train world-class artists in Turkey. The goal of the project is to bring in well-known, internationally acclaimed pedagogues and musicians to educate unusually talented young musicians on whom we will soon hear about on the world stage. On this CD/DVD set, you will listen to Eren Aydoğan, Dorukhan Doruk, Veriko Tchumburidze, Elvin Hoxha, Yunus Tuncalı, Kıvanç Tire, Yusuf Çelik, Ege Banaz and Yağızcan Keskin, who have been chosen as scholars from different conservatories throughout Turkey, as part of the ‘Young Musicians on the World Stages’ project sponsored by Onduline Avrasya. These young performers are now studying in Vienna, Leipzig, Tel Aviv, Bremen, Zurich, Cologne and Brussels. The goal of this project was not only to enable these young performers to participate in the best orchestras and become academic staff in the top conservatories in Turkey, but also to start an international career. After these students have spent one year studying abroad, taking master classes and winning first place in three international competitions, a concert series was organized to see how well the students have progressed and to show off their accomplishments to all music aficionados. Concerts were held last October at Cemal Reşit Rey in Istanbul, Bilkent in Ankara and the Sabancı Cultural Center in Izmir, where Borusan Quartet member violist Efdal Altun was a guest artist, who made a significant contribution to the project not only in his role as a musician, but also as a music teacher. These young musicians did not have much time to prepare for this concert, but their superb performance exceeded all expectations, proving their success with this CD/DVD set that was recorded during the concert. The CD/DVD set entitled “Young Musicians on World Stages with Güher & Süher Pekinel” was released at the end of December 2011 in all music stores and on the Internet.

When I listened to the CD and watched the DVD, I was excited, happy and proud, and afterwards I thought intensively about the concept of art. I was transported once again into a world of dreams and hope.
